Chester Area's Jean Benson Joins 400 Wins Club

Head Coach Jean Benson

On Tuesday, Chester Area defeated Parker 3-1 (25-19, 28-30, 25-15, 25-21) to improve their season record to 10-3. For Flyers coach Jean Benson, this marks her 400th career win as a head volleyball coach in South Dakota.

Throughout Benson’s career with Chester, she has eleven trips to the Class B state tournament, including four state championship match appearances, and a state 'B' title win in 2015.

Benson is currently No. 18 all-time in career wins for a high school volleyball coach in South Dakota, and No. 10 right now amongst active high school volleyball coaches in the Mt. Rushmore State.

So far in 2019, the Flyers have lost just three matches. Two of them were to McCook Central/Montrose, while the other came against Ethan this past weekend.

Chester Area’s next match of the season is tomorrow night at home against Garretson.
