Game, Fish and Parks, in partnership with the Missouri River Corridor Youth Hunt, are now accepting applications for a first-time youth deer hunt.
Applicants must be first-time deer hunters between the ages of 10 and 15. Space is limited to four youth hunters. The program includes training in firearm safety, sighting a firearm, deer hunting, field dressing, meat care, and camping.
If selected, participants will be provided with all gear necessary to safely hunt and camp over the three-day event. Hunters will be outfitted with lodging, deer licenses, guns, ammunition, safety equipment, binoculars, and transportation to and from hunting locations.
Each hunter will be paired with an experienced guide and are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The camp begins Dec. 8 with a pre-hunt orientation meetings and hunting kicks off Dec. 9-10.
Application deadline is Sept. 15.
