The Sioux Falls Stampede begin defense of the United States Hockey League's Clark Cup on Saturday at home against the Sioux City Musketeers. Hours after the team celebrated their title head coach Cary Eades announced that he was parting ways with the Stampede to take the head coaching job at Fargo. Just six days after the Stampede eliminated the Muskegon Lumberjacks for the USHL title, Scott Owens was introduced as the team's new head coach. Owens brings a wealth of experience to the Stampede bench. He led Colorado College to three WCHA titles over 15 seasons. He also coached the Des Moines Buccaneers to the USHL's Clark Cup in 1999. Owens was with Des Moines for five seasons and, earlier, had coached the USHL's Madison Capitals for four seasons. Owens joined Dakota Midday's Steve Zwemke to preview the 2015-16 Sioux Falls Stampede and to visit about college hockey in the Midwest.
