Department of Education leaders recognized Eric Pederson—a special education teacher from Aberdeen Central High School—at this year’s Special Education Conference.

Paiton Burchkard, a standout player from Aberdeen Central and South Dakota State University, has taken on a new challenge as the head coach of the Golden Eagles. Along with being a first-year head coach, she is getting an opportunity to coach her younger sister Lauryn.
