When the position of South Dakota State Veterinarian opened, Groton native Beth Thompson, DVM, saw an opportunity to serve her home state and be closer to family and friends. She has accepted the offer for this position and begins her duties on May 9. She will work with the South Dakota Animal Industry Board, responsible for protecting and preserving the health of the state's livestock.
