Castlewood continues to rebuild from a May tornado. With half of the local school building unsafe to occupy, it’s taking coordination from residents, churches, and administrators to rebuild.

Castlewood was present at the state volleyball championships this year for the first time since 1997, and the Warriors finished the ‘B’ tournament in sixth. While that alone is something to be celebrated, it’s the challenges that this season’s team had to deal with that truly displays the strength of the community, school, and team.

An early-morning fire on Wednesday, Oct. 26, burned down the Hamlin Reformed Church in rural Castlewood, South Dakota.

Kylie and Addyson Wittnebel are sisters who have both advanced to the national high school rodeo event this July. What makes this even more unique is that they each qualified for nationals in the same event, Pole Bending.
