The 2024 SDHSAA spring state golf championships wrapped up action on Tuesday from Yankton (AA), Sioux Falls (A), and Brookings (B Boys and B Girls).

Chester has won the state ‘B’ softball championship! The Flyers defeated the defending champions Castlewood 19-8 on Saturday in Aberdeen. An impressive win for a program in its first year fielding a sanctioned high school team.

Emery Larson is a state cross-country champion for the second straight year. The Chester sophomore finished first in the ‘B’ girls race on Saturday afternoon at Yankton Trails Park in Sioux Falls.

On Tuesday, Chester Area defeated Parker 3-1 to improve their season record to 10-3 on the season. For Flyers coach Jean Benson, this marks her 400th career win as a head volleybal
