In a game that saw plenty of big plays, it was Howard who held the edge to win the title. The Tigers defeated Wolsey-Wessington 38-30 at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion on Friday for the 9A championship.

Howard takes on St. Thomas More in the 2004 Class 11B Football Championship. Howard would defeat St. Thomas More 29-8.

It was an instant classic from Aberdeen on Saturday. Howard defeated the three-time defending state champion De Smet Bulldogs 60-55 in overtime to win their first state boys basketball championship in 60-years.

Howard is heading to the state ‘B’ boys championship game. The Tigers of Howard defeated the Tigers of White River 48-42 on Friday night in the semifinal round.

From runner-up a year ago, to now being crowned the state champs – Parkston can celebrate a season of redemption. The Trojans defeated Howard on Thursday night in Vermillion 12-7 in a grind it out, defensive battle, for the 9AA title.

Friday night football is where hits become highlights and in Howard, community support for the Tigers runs deep.

Howard captured the 9A state championship on Thursday with an impressive 55-18 win over Herreid/Selby Area.

The Howard Tigers (12-0) defeated the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds (11-1) 32-20 at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion, SD.
