Recently, Sioux Falls Washington High School Senior Hannah Dayaget was named the 2022 South Dakota Poetry Out Loud champion.Student participants of the Poetry Out Loud program memorize and recite works of classic and contemporary poetry. This weekend Dayaget participated in the Poetry Out Loud National Semifinals.

April is national poetry month. This Saturday is also Independent Bookstore Day.The Full Circle Book Co-op in Sioux Falls has created a space where people can gather to poor over dusty pages, share a drink, and recite poetry. The venue has a full slate of activities planned for Independent Bookstore Day.
