Each month, SDPB shines a spotlight on a specific topic. This month, we examine Title IX. It's fifty years old this summer. The federal law prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in schools that receive federal funding.

From 1974 to 2008, Ruth Rehn was an assistant executive director for the South Dakota High School Activities Association. She's one of the main people who helped get a majority of the girls high school sports sanctioned in the Rushmore State after Title IX passed 50 years ago.
