Another round of storms blew through West River last night. The storms started in northeastern Wyoming and traveled through western South Dakota.
Susan Sanders is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Rapid City.
“We had hail anywhere from tennis ball-sized for the Hot Springs area and the southeastern part of the Black Hills to 4-inch hail. So it's almost grapefruit size," she said. "Three days in a row of large hail and then there was also a tennis ball-sized hail in the Kadoka area, as well as really strong winds, 80 to 90 miles an hour in that area. And so there was quite a bit of damage around there, too.”
Sanders said West River will begin a dry spell starting Wednesday and highs could reach close to 100 degrees by Friday.
