Dr. Sean Flynn, professor of history at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, reflects on the magnitude of the attack on Pearl Harbor on this day in 1941. He discusses mistakes we made as a nation, the military operation logistics and the lessons and legacy of the Day of Infamy.
The segment begins with a montage of voices from members of the South Dakota Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. There were just 19 members of the Association when interviews were conducted by SDPB-TV in 2000 for the documentary South Dakota Stories: Pearl Harbor Survivors.
